Come and join our new children's choir,
Singing Saints, at All Saints Hertford!
Singing Saints will be a weekly choir for children age 7+ on Fridays, after school, during term time. It is being funded by All Saints so membership is free. All we ask is that children are enthusiastic and want to learn to sing. No prior experience is necessary and we provide all the materials
Initial sessions
These will be held on Friday 26th June, Friday 3rd July and Friday 10th July; all from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
Who's running this?
Kate Macpherson, a professional organist and choir trainer, will be running Singing Saints, with support from our music department. Everyone involved has a current enhanced DBS check.
Kate is experienced in working with children and young people, inspiring them with a love of singing and church music.
She is an All Saints parishioner, mum of two, and former Assistant Organist at Christ Church Southgate and Waltham Abbey. She is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists (ARCO).

If possible we'd like to know you're coming so please drop us a line with your name and your child/children so we can be ready for you. But do feel free to just drop in on the day - we'll be glad to see you!
Why are we doing this?
The purpose of this is to bring in the next generation of choristers for All Saints, acting as a feed into the main choir.
By encouraging singing at primary school level, we hope to imbue children with a love of singing, specifically in terms of church music, and to develop their singing potential and association with All Saints.
In time, we envisage that Singing Saints will participate in worship and sing during some services at All Saints, probably once a month on the 1st Sunday morning service of the month (10.00 am)
How are you funding this?
Some time ago we received a legacy specifically to support the choir. We are using some funds from this to 'kick start' the choir and plan to support this long-term from our general funds.
